"inform-mode" è una modalità principale di Emacs per modificare codice sorgente nel linguaggio di programmazione Inform 6.
"inform-mode" gestisce le consuete funzioni delle modalità per programmazione di Emacs: rientri automatici, spostamento su espressioni, riempimento di commenti e stringhe, formattazione dei caratteri, gestione di file tag, avvio di compilazioni e analisi degli errori. Si può anche eseguire un interprete di codice Z sul codice compilato.
Inform 6 è un linguaggio orientato agli oggetti per scrivere narrativa interattiva, nota anche come "avventura testuale" o "gioco di avventura".
