Tftpd è un server che supporta il protocollo Internet TFTP, Trivial File Transfer Protocol, (RFC 783). Il server TFTP opera sulla porta indicata nella descrizione del servizio "tftp": vedere services(5). Il server viene normalmente avviato da inetd(8).

Attenzione: non gestisce "tsize" che è richiesto da alcuni client tftp, specialmente PXE e vari altri client per avvio da rete. Per quelli usare atftpd o tftpd-hpa.
