Questo pacchetto contiene una suite di strumenti per manipolare file mmCIF.
La struttura delle macromolecole al giorno d'oggi è registrata in file mmCIF. Tuttavia, fino a poco tempo fa il vecchio formato di file PDB era usato da molti programmi, ma tale formato è deprecato da molto tempo.
Questo pacchetto fornisce due strumenti, pdb2cif e cif2pdb, che possono convertire file da un formato all'altro, posto che i dati siano adatti, naturalmente.
Altri strumenti sono cif-validate, cif-grep, cif-diff, cif-merge e mmCQL. Quest'ultimo può essere usato per manipolare un file mmCIF come se fosse un database in stile SQL usando i comandi SELECT, UPDATE, INSERT e DELETE.
Questo pacchetto dipende da libcifpp.
