Cpipe copia il proprio standard input sul proprio standard output, misurando nel frattempo il tempo necessario per leggere il buffer di input e per scrivere il buffer di output. Sullo standard error vengono stampate statistiche sul passaggio di dati e sul numero totale di byte copiati.

Cpipe può essere usata anche come alternativa all'utilità "buffer" per casi d'uso semplici.
