D-Bus er en beskedbus, der bruges til afsendelse af beskeder mellem programmer. Konceptuelt ligger D-Bus et sted mellem rå sokler og CORBA i forhold til kompleksitet.
Denne pakke indeholder værktøjet dbus-launch, der automatisk starter en D-Bus-sessionsbus per X11-skærm per bruger. Hvis pakken dbus-user-session også er installeret, så får den forrang over denne pakke.
