Il pacchetto traits fornisce una metaclasse con attributi speciali che sono chiamati "trait". Un trait è una definizione di tipo che può essere usata per gli attributi dei normali oggetti Python, dando agli attributi qualche caratteristica aggiuntiva:

 * inizializzazione: un attributo trait può avere un valore predefinito;
 * validazione: un attributo trait ha un tipo dichiarato in modo manifesto;
 * delegazione: il valore di un attributo trait può essere contenuto in un
   altro oggetto;
 * notifica: impostare il valore di un attributo trait può attivare
   callback;
 * visualizzazione: con il pacchetto TraitsUI si possono generare
   automaticamente GUI a partire dagli oggetti con trait.

Questa è la versione per Python 3 del pacchetto.
